Challenge:

Regulatory agencies require guaranteed longevity for a variety of digital data objects, (i.e. aircraft type design data, etc.).

• This type of data must be preserved and be accessible in a usable form during the operational life of the product.
• Failure to meet this requirement can lead to potential litigation costs associated with being unable to retrieve and use the data

Expected Solution:

Establish a process framework that organizes the requirements and enables verification of the implemented system back to the requirements and secures quality of design data during life cycle.

The purpose of the project is to deploy the next generation of Long-Term Archiving tools and to roll out an end-user application for Digital Archives. It will capitalize on the EADS-Eurofighter "Center of Excellence" within data exchange and sharing capabilities and the recent European aerospace industry (AECMA) joint initiative, EN 9300.
